The bigger names tend to have more overhead, but also some extra resources and experience to draw on. But to answer “is it expensive” - I would ask “compared to what?”

Compared to a data breach? No. Not expensive.

Compared to losing customers due to loss of trust after a security incident? Not expensive.

Compared to lunch? Yes. It’s expensive.
