If there’s not someone at your organization who is comfortable (and qualified) to evaluate the cybersecurity needs facing your business, it’s probably a good idea to hire someone to help.
A good consultant can come in (physically or virtually) and observe what you are currently doing and any areas that your company is exposed and at risk, then provide you with some action items that can take you to a better security footing.

Question: Is it expensive?
Answer: Can be. A lot depends on the size and scope of your organization and the size of the company you are hiring a consultant from. Compared to a data breach? No. Not expensive.
Compared to losing customers due to loss of trust after a security incident? Not expensive.
Compared to lunch? Yes. It’s expensive.
